Yes, yes and yes.

The Bible contains history written by historians of 2000 years ago. No one alive today is qualified to judge. I don't care if they studied this for their entire lives. It is what it is.

it's all open to interpretaion so some will find errors were others won't

All of that plus interpolation, plagiarism, and outright forgery. And they have the nerve to call that the "Word of God".

I doubt you will ever find any document the length of the Bible that would ever be without errors, contradictions, or discrepancies. There are contradictions, but that does not mean that EVERY value or behavior or belief promoted in the Bible is therefore wrong. The majority of it makes a lot of sense, but one has to understand the CONTEXT in which each chapter was written which occurred via many different people over a long period of time. They did not realize they were writing something that would later be collected and cannonized into something that others would call "The Bible" later. Many chapters were written with regards to a particular group of people in a particular situation or time in history, and if those conditions do not remain today, don't count this chapter as being invalid. It may be VERY valid for similar situations but read the Bible as a complete canvas of many different colors, pictures and situations which may or may not happen to you during your life on this earth. I agree with you though when some try to proclaim that absolutely every thing in the Bible is total truth and should not be questioned. Some of it was written as a story -- a parable to demonstrate a point or teach a lesson, but did not actually happen. Many people believe Revelations is just such a chapter. But we do have historical records that people like Jesus and King Solomon and Abraham all lived. Where the Bible details the lives of individuals, one should not assume that if the Bible has erred or contradicted itself somewhere, that this means Jesus was just a big lie and it's all a hoax. It isn't a hoax and the Bible is a historical record as well as a teaching document which contains great wisdom that has been collected and handed down through the ages. So don't make the mistake of throwing it all away, just because you found something in one chapter that seems to counter what is said in another chapter. RESEARCH it and you will usually find the INFORMED answer as to why there seems to be a contradiction at first blush. And also open your heart to change and greater understanding if your first reaction is to merely resist the Bible's teachings because it may call for you to do things that aren't much fun or that you don't like. Longer term and lasting happiness is what the Bible teaches versus the quick fix we all seem to be looking for in today's fast-paced, disposable, and impatient society.
