Comfortable ones. I prefer soft soled. I am not trying to impress anyone on the plane. I think it is rather silly for women to wear high heels on a flight. I have seen more than a few take a pratfall on the way to the loo when there was an air-bump. (lol)

Maximize your comfort, but I am not in favor of shoes that can accident slip off one's feet while moving about.
One answer spoke of being a pilot. It helps to wear shoes with heels that do not stick to the floor of the plane, especially a helicopter.

Slip on shoes - airport security wants to smell your feet and count your toes before letting you through the gate.
The boss wanted to send me to Atlanta - I said I'd go but only if I can drive....I detest flying anymore.

Whenever I fly I where my Nike athletic shoes and dress comfortably. I wore dress shoes with 3 1/2 inch heels the first time I flew for business and then walked around for 8 hours. I learned never to do it again! Besides; I don't go there thinking the plane is going to take a dive, but I figure I'm as prepared as I can be if it did happen!
