    It is very interesting.

Be sure to think about it not as just a historical event in the past, but a study of society. The Germans were just ordinary people - the most important lesson is how ordinary people can be led to do such acts.

    They had too much pride.

I made a personal and extensive research of the Holocaust. For that matter, I still dig and learn. What was taught in the schools was both inaccurate and insufficient. I went much deeper, digging up the actual Nazi propaganda films, films taken by the guards in the camps, and much more. I can testify that those propaganda films were mind-bending.

I believe I have to understand and bear witness because my people were part of those targeted in the Final Solution. I believe that, even if my people were not part of the target of genocide, I would still have to bear witness to honor the dead. Being Rromani is just added incentive.

I had, and have, the need to be able to climb into the heads of those on both sides.

    O Porrajmos... we NEVER forget.

Read the link below for a different perspective of the genocide.

    My 2 cents.

i find it really interesting as well to know that some jackass acctually brainwashed a huge group of soldiers to kill every single jew in germany.its cool but sad the cool things is that hitler was very intellegant to do something like that and it was sad because so many died in the holocaust.(by the way im reading daniels story its about a kid in the holocaust that survives)

A lot of people are very interested in it. It is history afterall. Just as long as you realize that it was a terrible thing that should never be repeated, I think you're okay. Many Holocaust experts are Jews whose families have been directly impacted by the Holocaust. They enjoy learning about it not because it was an enjoyable experience for their ancestors but because it was one of the biggest historical events of the 20th century and it is interesting.
