Help answer this question below.
There's free government programs to help only women do this.
In Iowa, there's a $25 fee to apply for help, and they'll take care of the court orders for you. (If you're receiving public assistance of some sort, the fee is waived.)
The directions are at this link:
https://childsupport.dhs.state.ia.us/generalinfo.asp#HowtoApply
The actual application is here:

Should child support be based on the child's needs, the non-custodial parent's income, or a combination of the two?

Well, they're not free unless you're on public assistance, but in Iowa it's a $25 fee.
.
The statute creating those services says "custodial parent." While most parents with sole custody are women, that's not universally true.
.
If there is a state that makes its child support collection services available only to women, could you flag it for me? They're not supposed to do that.

Hmm, must be a kansas thing. Theres some place cant remember the title of it, you just go down there and they get you the money that your owed. Its quick and simple.
I dont do it cuz the father of my daughter is an abusive peice of crap that is in prison for years to come...lol, but girls have done it. Ill check into the name of it cuz im not really sure.

Chris,
Have you ever seen how they treat men trying to get an order in pace, or enforced, against a mother. I always tell the fathers to take a woman with them to ask the question first.
by George R. McCasland on August 17th, 2009
George, I have not personally seen that. That's why I asked for specifics. I'm shocked, but I don't doubt that you're right.
.
My brother-in-law got full custody of his twin daughters after his divorce-which happened when he discovered his first wife was a drug addict and had been neglecting their newborn daughters. There was a child support agreement in place, but his ex-wife ignored it. He didn't try to enforce it because there wasn't anything there to collect. (Luckily, my sister sees no difference between children and step-children, so the kids are OK.)
.
It's important that you understand that my question was not an idle one. I've been in DC for over 22 years now. I've been a Legislative Director and Chief of Staff to several Members of Congress. (I know - this is an Internet site - people spout bullshit all the time.)
.
But if you give me an example of a state that makes its child support collection services available only to women, I can find somebody to change it.

He should still enforce the order. She may not be able to pay now, but there's no statute of limitations on enforcement, so if she ever comes into money, he would get it. After the children turn 18, he has to renew the claim every 24 months.
As for CSE, the problem is not in state regulations, but in treatment of the father when he seeks help. Similar problems exist in trying to get a restraining order and going to court. When a man applies for one, they give him the forms and tells him to file them. When a woman applies, they provide help in filling out and filing the forms. When the women go to court, they have counselors there for her to talk to from shelters.
I've worked with fathers for 20 years, though I not a member of any group that does lobbying. Their tactics are often reflective of the same tactics of women's groups. I prefer to educate. I run a Yahoo Group called Dads House, through which I distribute an educational manual.

I'm also a Supervisor on WikiAnswers dealing in Family Law Issues. I put in 14 house a day doing this. I now live in a nursing home due to failing health.

That is very true. George, if you inforce it...it will add up. Whenever they are capable of paying it they haveto. Im still trying to think of that company you go to. They put the order in play and they give you the money. The bill adds up and the payee is court order to pay them every cent back. The thing is with whatever company it is they take a small fee out only becaus of its convinience but I've heard it is very easy and very helpful.
