There is one God. Theology is the study of that one God. Questions about god, gods, goddess, and or goddesses (note the use of the lower case 'g') don't even belong in Theology.

your subject should be in mythology

Theology is the study of G-O-D. Theos was a Greek word for god before the Greeks ever heard of the One God. Ask away.

I would think questions such as you are posing could also be asked in the Philosophy region of AB,.....hth....

1) Even if it is not recommended, you are allowed to ask any question in any category. If the category is not adequate, it will probably be recategorized. An important exception are questions which should be categorized in AB4Adults. If you ask repeatedly such questions outside AB4Adults, you could get some problems, up to the suspension of your account. 2) Always consider that your question could be recategorized. So avoid to use the category to reduce the scope of your question. Also, I am not sure what you are referring to with "this category". At the moment, this question is in this category: "Categories » Social sciences » Theology » Jargon" (which would be a subcategory of the mentioned "Theology" category. However, I guess that you could have asked this question originally in another category, such as: - "Categories » Social sciences » Religions » God" - "Categories » Social sciences » Religions » Theism" - "Categories » Social sciences » Mythology » Gods & Goddesses" 3) To help you find out what a specific category means, you could rely on its place inside the category tree and also on its description. On the main page of any category, you can read its description. For instance, here are the descriptions for the above mentioned categories: - " Categories » Social sciences » Theology » Jargon": "Vocabulary, terminology, names, etc. used in theology" - "Categories » Social sciences » Religions » God": "Questions, answers and discussion about God" - "Categories » Social sciences » Religions » Theism": "Questions and answers about Theism" - "Categories » Social sciences » Mythology » Gods & Goddesses": "All about the Gods and Goddesses of ancient times" 4) However, it is not always easy to find the appropriate category. Also, it is not always easy to find the right place inside the category tree. Some people would not consider religion to be mainly a "social science", for instance. There will often be some discussions about this. If you don't agree with the category of someone else's question, you can flag it as wrong category. Please notice that the new categorization must not be accepted. If you don't agree with the category of one of your own questions, for instance after it has been recategorized, you can make a feedback about it to the Staff (using the "Feedback" link at the bottom of the page). Again, your request might be rejected. For instance, if you asked a question about God in a Christian category, and someone understand it as a general question about God, they could re-categorize it, and you would not be able to get it back. For this reason, if you only want to ask a question about the God of the Bible, or the Christian God, it is much better to specify this explicitly in your question.
