Don't get a credit card to begin with.

Other than that you can take a lot of steps to increase security with your credit cards such as not keeping social security number where anybody can get a hold of it, or using easy pin numbers or writing them on the card, or leaving wallet, card what ever where anybody can get a hold of it.

Also, never ever give out your credit card information to any internet company unless you know that they are "Safe" to play with.

i agree with athrael, don't even use a credit card to begin with and if you see purchases that were not made, close the acount fast.

Today at work, got an order with blatant fraud all over it. I called the credit card company to report it. Sadly, a great deal of damage has probably already been done.
