i will probably get alot of downrates for saying this, but, im 15 and dont beleive in god. - i personally think its just a story .. like a fairy tale .. that some old man wrote(or told) hundreds of years ago.. a story that got past along through the centuries, and people over the years started to believe it was real. then look what happened.

What proof would you be willing to consider?

Much of the Bible presents itself as the Word of God, and 2Peter says it all is (at least the OT). That means the authors must have been lying, nuts, or telling the truth. The more I study it, the more I'm convinced they weren't nuts and they weren't lying, ergo ...

No one can prove the Bible is the word of God. Only "God" can, and we all know "He" won't. The Bible is one of dozens of religious texts established to explain that which could not have been explained at the time, as well as setting any rules or guidelines for the masses to follow.

In my opinion, it is not to be taken literally by anybody no matter how devout. Most of it is an allegory that sets an example for standards that we should live by. Living your entire life by a single book seems somewhat foolish to me, but to each their own.

Well, to be quite honest with you, I could care less about the Bible. I made the assumption long ago that it was made as a "guidebook" and nothing more. For example, avoiding certain kinds of meat, not because they're sacred, but because they spoil faster. Another example is avoiding women with shaven heads - they had head lice. It's all very simple when you look at it from the human perspective instead of the "divine" one. :)

And if my last couple of sentences didn't make much sense, sorry. It's late, I'm tired. :P

porque without religion we wouldnt know what moral virtues are or what self sacrifice is. talking about general religion. it established the basic rules necessary for us to survive without cutting each others throats.

Nope - but, imo, nothing is provable. That having been said, I see no reason that the book can't be seen as an amazing insight into culture, and even the religions built from it have been incredibly influential on world culture and I think as a member of the world, it's better to be educated about such things. Just because a book isn't divinely-inspired doesn't make it irrelevant. Books help people all the time. Don't be hatin', yo.

Manuscript evidence, archeological evidence, and prophetic prophecy give the bible credibility to being accurate. compare just the manuscript evidence to any other ancient documents and then if you dare go further.

Logic and proof doesnt work with things spiritual.
one has to rely on experience and trust.
if you take the time to experience the Word of God,
then you too with share a common experience.

The proof --that the bible CAN NOT BE the word of God-- is in the pudding --er reading Bible!
    e.g.
'God’s Word of Bible' approves of
Evidence for prosperous places on(flat!) earth without God’s presence!
(The city of Enoch, Nod, east of Eden!) Genesis-4:16-18.
Non-vegetarian fetish or preference for ‘slaughter of first-born’ over fruit of soil from toil: Genesis-4:3-7. Fostering inter-brother hate: Genesis-4:8-9
    God, protector of brother-murderer! Genesis-4:10-15
Inter-brother hate & sanction of hereditary slavery: Genesis-9:18-27
    Hate of other-god-believers: Deuteronomy-13:1-18, Leviticus-20:1-5
Stone disobedient son to death: Deuteronomy-21:18-21, Leviticus-20:9
Kill man, woman, child, livestock-Siege of Jericho-Joshua-6:21, 26
    Divine plunder: Joshua-6:19, 24
Divine plunder by espionage & with assistance of prostitute[s]: Joshua-2:1, 6:25
    Divine terror: Song of Moses-Deuteronomy-32:23-27.
Preference to non-vegetarian over vegetarian (offerings), herders over farmers: Genesis-4:2-5

    Ezekiel:16 shows up God as
a ‘dirty old man’ grooming an orphan for sex
and later an impotent jealous husband
who can neither 'satisfy' nor punish his adulterous wife: ‘Jerusalem’

And this is just the beginning!
    SHAME!

You can't prove the exact validity of most historical events because they were all documented by man. Objective and vague in his best moments. THe monks that documented the bible did it sequestered and chaste as a lifes work. It meant something to them.

Ben Franklyn was probably between paris and drunk for half of the things that were written down concerning them and we all believe that.
