I have known two black people who said they had serious NA ancestry and 1) they could back it up, 2) neither of them were trying to get on tribal roles.

Out of all of the black people I know, they are the only ones and it was the parent of one who was NA, the grandparent of the other who was NA.

I have known tons of people of all ethnicities who say they had some unknown NA ancestor they were told about but do not claim to be [whatever] + NA or just NA. It is just an interesting side note in an offhand conversation.

Most people whose family has been in the USA are mixed to some degree or other. Look at Moongrim's answer to see proof of mixing of Blacks and NAs: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/7458811

That being said, even if all or most black people claimed this, or all or most white people claimed this, I could not care less. It does not affect me one way or another.

The only time I find it annoying is when people of ANY ethnicity use it to get on tribal roles for monetary and material gain. This behaviour is not limited to blacks.

I think it's quite ludicrous for someone to actually be annoyed by a certain race of people being mixed with another. And, what exactly is so annoying about it anyway? I think your question is not only racist, but very small minded. I guess I should be annoyed by women who actually consider themselves a blonde when clearly their roots say otherwise. Get a life!

Nope, not me. I couldn't care less. What annoys the hell outta me is the ones who, thinking they're hollier than thou, go around bashing on others because of their ethnicity

Most Black people I know do not claim that.
But for the sake of argument...

-I read a study, and I need to find it so you can have some proof (but feel free to google it), that nearly 70% of all Black people are multiracial (probably lighter Blacks).
    - It's a well-known fact that there was mixing among the slaves/masters and just as much with NA's. There are even scholarships and tribes out for Black-NAs. They do exist.
-I also find it odd that you'd get angry at some claiming NA when you don't know their family tree. My father looks Black but is technicall biracial. I look Black, but I'm multiracial. I'd be a bit baffled and upset if someone were to automatically be annoyed with me for what I am.
    - I've seen a lot White people claim NA, even when it was from ages ago and would barely register if a DNA test was done. Does that annoy you as well?

    Let people be.

Your annoyance is a bit silly, because most people in america are mixed to some degree. And, that includes black people. I guess for you it would be more acceptable for black people to be mixed with another race besides native americans, which is ludicrous. Besides, more ofen than not most minorities generally gravitate towards other minorities rather than white people, so it's inevitable for most black people to have more than one heritage. And, so what if the people you've met are mix with indian blood. Change your friends and you won't have to be annoyed anymore. Your question is not only racist, but very simple minded.
