Yes. You need to cool down first then relax with something like a warm bath and a half glass of wine.
Yes - you have too many endorphins (however it's spelt!) rushing around yout body.
That's *action* related - your body had something to do, and is now waiting for *what's next*.. Just go to bed, close your eyes, do not open them, relax, don't think, don't do any unrequired moves, think of something nice, but don't speak in mind and let yourself fall to sleep.
You can also put on some chilling music.
I work at night, I have the same thing - I'm supposed to be sleepy when I return back home, but body is still waiting for new *action*, so I just ignore that and try to fall asleep.
What is bigger: two twin mattresses or a king mattress?
