The red(standby) and green(power on) lights on my DVD player flashes in unison when I plug it in and i'm unable to switch it on or do anything. What is the solution to this?

  Ihave a sonydvd with no sound.It worked with the surroundsound but now not direct to the tv.Is there a setting to send the sound to the tv?

  Philips HTS3565D-37 will not play certain DVD's. I have upgraded the software, the discs are coded for the correct region. Any ideas why?
