  • Basically, if the conductor were standing still on the train, his speed relative to the ground would be the same as the train's (100 km/h), but because he's walking in the opposite direction at 5km/h, he's effectively moving 5km/h slower than the train relative to the ground, and thus is moving at 95km/h relative to the ground.
