Yes I do, I have a preference for Shells and Tagliatelli I am not keen on Spaghetti
-
Not unless the formula/recipe is different. The shape just gives it a texture difference.
-
There is a difference that I believe I can taste....
-
They taste all the same to me.
-
bowtie pasta tastes like bowties. Which is not very pleasant.
-
No. But the way the sauce sticks/penetrates can affect your perception. Plain pasta of the same brand should taste the same.
-
no, some just hold the sauce better than other shapes and some may hold the water inside the noodle more after being rinsed out so it may feel like it tastes different, like a shell noodle :)
-
just more fun to eat

+5 Yes

I don't think so ... +5

I think it's more complex than that. I think the different shapes actually hold onto more or less sauce and that changes the flavor. Also bigger pieces make you have to chew them more and the carbs break down making them probably taste a little sweeter.
-
I don't really think so, at least not by themselves. It is what we use them with that gives the different tastes.
-
no not really, depends on the sauce more than the pasta itself... but the shapes do make it look more tastier....
-
Yes because they use different flower for different pasta shapes.
-
Only to the extent that some shapes absorb more sauce than others. The tube pastas versus plain spaghetti taste different because sauce creeps into the tube so you taste it on the outside of the tube and also on the inside...with spaghetti, there is no inside! :) Happy Friday m'dear! :) ((hugs))
-
No, I don't. The various shapes all taste the same to me.

no

Shape does not make that big of a difference. Color does. I tried black squid ink noodles. It tastes way different from regular yellow noodles.
-
It's funny how the shape of the pasta, bottle or can of soda can make all the difference in the taste, although the ingrediants are pretty much the same.*+++++*
-
The shape allows for the ability to absorb the sauce and texture does play a major role in flavor. Long spaghetti absorbs sauce very differently than say a shell shape.
-
Well since the shape of the pasta affects how it absorbs sauce, salt, pepper, etc. I would believe so.
