Repression and selective memory have already been listed by others. "Compartmentalizing" is another type of selective awareness. It happens when you create separate compartments in your mind for different thoughts and behaviors. When you're in one compartment you're forgetful of your thoughts that are stored in a different compartment.

Acc'ding to Freud = repression. One of the "healthier" neurotic ego-defense mechanisms. ;-)
