There are so many signs on the Turnpike that say "Speed Monitored by Helicopter".
Truthfully, I have never seen a helicopter in any of those areas.
To answer your question: Yes, helicopters dispatch ground officers to apprehend speeders and the like.

No answer to your question,but,that remined me of the time a CA trooper pulled me out of the middle of 6 trucks,and said I was speeding. I said I wanted to see it on his radar, he then said he didn't clock me it was the airplane. I said "what airplane? I didn't see no airplane." Do you want to see the airplane? I said "YES, I want him to land right here and let me see his radar!" The trooper said; "He is gone out of the area." I took it to court and asked to have the trooper/pilot that clocked me in court. After talking it over ,with the trooper, the judge told me they would let me know when to come back to court, when the trooper/pilot could be there. And that was in 1977 And I have been stopped, in CA since then, and no one has said a word about that ticket.

Now that would have been quite a sight on the NJ Turnpike - hahaha! I just needed confirmation is all. I was going on the premise of for example the way if you run a red light with a traffic cam or through the EZ Pass toll that they can snap a shot of your plate and send you the ticket. Thank you!
