  • Personality disorders define something more than just being crabby or immature. They are dysfunctions that have chemical imbalances or deep disturbances at their root. Some cannot be cured as yet. Some take deep analysis coupled with medication and supervision. Some can be corrected by self awareness and group therapy.
  • Yes, there is a huge difference between a range of personalities and a clinical personality disorder. It is wrong to speak of them as if they are nothing. They are trivialized when used in every day speech, such as oh, that's just your OCD acting up, or you're acting bi polar today. The same thing has happened with psychological disorders such as idiocy. Now it means nothing for people to call each other idiots.
