Help answer this question below.
Einstein probably couldn't tie his own shoes.
He was too enraptured by the cosmos to worry about such mundane things as driving cars or changing one's underwear daily.
I can imagine that a lot of people couldn't drive in those days.
Yes.
Some more interesting facts:
"Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.--Albert Einstein."

"Shortly after Albert Einstein's arrival at Princeton, where he settled after fleeing Nazi Germany in 1933, a telephone call was taken in the dean's office. "May I speak with Dean Eisenhart, please?" the speaker asked. On being told that the dean was out, the caller asked, "Perhaps you can tell me where Dr. Einstein lives." Since it had been agreed that everything should be done to protect Einstein from inquisitive callers, the request was politely refused. Whereupon "the voice on the telephone dropped to a near whisper," wrote Eisenhart, "and continued. 'Please do not tell anybody, but I am Dr. Einstein. I am on my way home and have forgotten where my house is.' ""

I think it's all relative though.
Yes, and he couldn't tie his shoes either. The simply things we take for granted just didn't interest him. He would go days without eating and probaly would have starved if it wasn't for his housekeeper.
not surprising, he obviously had other things on his mind than learning to drive
no i didnt, but now i do :)
im sure alot of people didn't know how to though :)
he would send the neighboor's daughter to buy him goods because he didn't know how to deal with cash
He was amusingly forgetful as well. Also, I read once that he got caught many times using his fingers while mentally calculating.
Einstein is overrated
One time a lady asked him for his phone number. He didn't know it. He explained that there was no reason to memorize it when all he had to do was look it up in the phone book.
yes. I can barely step out my front door.
Yes, I did know that! :)
Does not surprise me.
Sometimes, people with a very high IQ, cannot walk and chew gum at the same time.
No, I didn't, but thanks for sharing. It just goes to show that even if people don't follow artificial milestones set up by society, they can still be brilliant and successful.
See, a Genius, I mean he wasn't even a WOMAN!
I'm sure he had more on his mind
I read that about him. I'd rather be a genius who can't drive than a simple-minded idiot who can.
Yes,but his ideas drive spaceships.
yes
Neither did one of the greatest geniuses ever, Michaelangelo Buonnaroti.
Yes
Me too I dont know how to drive .I don't like cars they just pollute the planet !
Bicycles is the best or public transport for far distances !
^_^
Fascinating, but that doesn't surprise me.

Credit often doesn't go to the person who originally makes a discovery. The credit usually goes to the person who writes prolifically about a notion and clearly articulates the concept.
