Where can i get a copy of the original broadway show dreamgirls on video

    Many Broadway musicals don't make it to commercial video. I'm fairly sure that Dreamgirls is one. The complicated legal process involved in making such a video and the attempt to preserve theatre (for artist and audience) as a live art form, are two reasons why you can't find it. If you live in New York you can go to Lincoln Center (The Lincoln Center Library). They house an archive of recorded Broadway shows. You can watch it there on the premises. If I remember correctly, there is also a limit on how many times one can watch the videos in a given period. This rule is in place to discourage less-than-creative and unethical "artists" from stealing realized production concepts/designs. It also exists to encourage creativity and innovation.
