Help answer this question below.
Some of the people who are against health care reform are against it because they think the propositions on the table stink.
There is also a lot of the 'I won't pay for your healthcare' crowd who, literally, would watch someone die rather than "pay for your healthcare... after all, I EARNED my money. Deal with it yourself or die."
So, yes, the last kind that I mentioned think it is morally OK.
simple ..because its shows how the Republicans did absolutely nothing while they were in power about healthcare reforms and were quite happy to let well over half a millions U.S. citizens die of treatable diseases and record numbers of U.S. citizens go bankrupt because of medical bills. Sitting by while U.S. citizens had to take out loans to pay for medical bills ... morality? they have no idea what that is ..,now profits at any cost and kissing the Religious Rights arses .. thats something they do know about
There is no good reason, a public option has many advantages for business.
1. Small businesses are freed of health care requirements reducing start up costs and eliminating worker's comp almost entirely.
2. Banks will have far fewer foreclosures since medical bills make up the majority of bankruptcies.
3. Reduced emergency room visits, longer life spans and healthier lives. These impact businesses favorably.
SOCIALIZED MEDICINE IS GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF AMERICA
I don't think most people (republicans and democrats) understand* the new plan enough to comment on it and the fact that people hate it so much without actually understanding it is really alarming to me, it could be a really great plan or it could be terrible but without actually checking the facts no one will know that they are supporting something that could potentially be bad for us or challenging something that could be really good for us.
*understanding of the proposed bill does not mean that you can repeat your favorite news networks message about the plan it means you understand the content of the proposal.
I'm all for Health Care reform the monstrosity moving though government is not reform. Its Socialized medicine that will be ran by a government that is notoriously bad at handling any thing. Post Office IRS Medicare Medicaid Social Security and the list goes on and on.
Obama said it best just yesterday when he pointed out that the free market with Fed Ex and UPS were doing just fine but that it was only the U.S. Postal office that was losing money. Loosely put, according to the Pres, private industry is doing well and the Government run Postal Service is doing poorly.
Cash for Clunkers. Our government projected 1 billion for four months and within four days they were broke so, using the force that only Government has, they took an additional 2 Billion tax dollars from the American Citizens to pump it back into their failed project.
Money and morals are not the issue, it is the control they will have over our lives that is of issue.
So far, what is being proposed in Congress is a grab-bag of pet projects and governement controls, interwoven with massive transfers of wealth. Strangely enough, the President is now trying to sell a load of BS by calling these projects "health insurance reform."
Believe me, if what Congress is proposing were actually health insurance reform, I think the entire country would get behind it.
health insurance companies, health services corporations, investment firms with tremendous assets in health services all donate to campaigns of republicans and lobby their interests (with money)to republicans 2:1 against democrats and against health care reform. it can't be those homeless veterans who live on the streets of DC we all stumble over as we race off to our next meeting. the question of morality, posed by john locke, assumes that there is a developed conscience.
Because the bill in Congress does nothing to reform healthcare. The bill in Congress does nothing but change who pays for healthcare. What’s worse, it is mandates that certain people pay more each year for healthcare in order to pay for the healthcare of others.
More importantly, changing who pays for healthcare will do nothing to prevent the increase in healthcare costs year after year.
Liberals are so busy arguing their agenda, that they have not taken the time to sit back and ask why would Republicans oppose a healthcare bill that would save them money? After all, aren’t all Republicans greedy people who only care about their bottom line? If this healthcare reform bill is going to save American’s money (and Republicans are American’s too), then why are they not jumping n board to reap the benefits.
However, have you noticed that liberals spend a lot of time arguing an agenda, and little to no time arguing the merits of their ideas?

You're reading What is a good reason for Republicans to be opposed to Health Care Reform the way it is being done in Congress? They cannot think costs spiralling out of control and some people not insured is morally ok?
