You might try a lens cleaner to clean the laser pickup. After that, it'd probably be cheaper to buy a new one than to have the thing fixed.

Someone just advised me to try a lens cleaner. I bought a lens cleaner (a disk) and it gives me the same messages (loading to no disk) as any of my other disks. So, how am I supposed to clean anything when it doesn't recognized ANY disk. Would the store (Best Buy) I bought it from try and determine if it's still repairable?

Hi, I don't even know what a lens pickup looks like, and unfortunately, it is probably under warranty since I've had it a little over a year (I think), but I've only found the manual. The lens cleaner is a disk. When I put it in, I get the same response as any other disk - loading -----> "no disk" so how am I supposed to clean it????? Should I try opening it up? And look for what? It was fine one night, the next night the error messages. Trudijane

You either have dirt on your laser pick up (you can buy a cleaning disk) or it just stopped working (hey its electronic-shit happens). Did it get bumped real hard? It could have been knocked out of alignment.
