  • I hope so.
  • Now that would be peace on earth and lets face it humans are their own worst enemy
  • Unfortunately no. As long as there are rich and poor people, they won't get along.
  • As long as some people want to raise all of society to equals, and as long as some people just want to make their own little kingdoms, we'll never see eye to eye. Society is evolving. This is a growing pain. A necessary step is our growth as a species.
  • No! JIHAD!
  • nope not until people are able to stop identifying themselves as one or the other. Way back in George Washington’s farewell address he warned of the dangers of political parties creating false animosities among their followers as a distraction to hold power, make no mistake these two bloated hogs we call the democrat and republican parties have fully exploited this tactic and the citizens of America are all to happy to continue to play the game. At this point in time the voters are so deeply engrossed in their sports team mentality they are completely blind to the game and continue on with the bickering remaining blindly loyal to their blue or red teams. VOTE EM ALL OUT and start fresh
  • In that context, we really shouldn't. Two or more parties insure that new ideas will emerge, but not be introduced at a radically fast pace. Contentious debate is a safety valve that protects the civilization. Let's all disagree and be patient. In the long term we have a better chance of improving rather than destroying ourselves.
  • Sure, it's called the independent party.
  • no...the only way we'd get along would be if i let them walk all over me...and that ain't happening!
  • Only in a Utopian society.
  • Oil and water. Case closed.
  • When we shed labels and invite constructive dialogue based on facts.
  • No..we must put them ALL to the sword! A real Final Solution to the problem! A NEW WORLD ORDER will be built on the ashes of the old - the world belongs to the strong, and only those who are worthy enough to survive will be allowed to reap the spoils in this new era! Or something like that....i don't know...yeah....we should try to get along I guess.... Keep smiling!
  • I really don't know why they don't. They seem to support the same things.. Big Government. Government Bailouts, unjust wars, the Patriot Act, Fascism...
  • I wonder if the "us vs. them" mentality stems from an instinctual mistrust of others in order to protect ourselves from danger. If we examine ourselves in the mirror and let go of hatred; hopefully peace and reconciliation will come to fruition. :)
  • Apparantly no, we cannot. What is the value of having parties or being affiliated with one? They don't really have coherent platforms anymore, do they? Wise people would take things on an issue by issue basis and not delegate all authority to the fallible humans who control "the party".
  • Of course we can. I have friends that claim both groups and one that even works for the Republican party. There's no big 'evil' party out there even though the big wigs on either side will try to make you believe that the other group is ruled by the devil himself.
  • No, the best we can do is to agree to disagree. Both parties have different mindsets on how we view the world. They are major philosophical differences which can not be reconciled. What we must do is try to cooperate with each other and remember that our identity as Americans is what unites us and creates a context for us to do whatever is the best for our country and in compliance to our Constitution.
  • I can't wait for the day when everyone realizes that there are more than two ways of looking at the world.
  • There used to be a time when they did. What passes for Republicans these days are the minority of loud, raucous right wing aholes. The good, sane Republicans, can't even be heard over the din of insanity that passes for conservatives these days. They make the Ku Klux Klan appear sane.
  • They could if they would stop wasting time and energy showing and speaking such disdain for one another; and using it to think of ideas to improve our situation instead. The ignorance of it abounds.
  • Just think of how many thousands of new laws and tax increases could be passed every year if they could only work together!
  • No. Some issues like abortion are life or death isssues, and one should never compromise on issues like that. As one who leans slightly to the republicans, im GLAD they dont work together; the job of the oposition party is to make life as difficult as possible for the ruling party, even if that means shooting yourself in the foot. No both party's are polar oposites and should never work together IMO.
  • Heck with them both. Bring back the Whigs.
  • We can get along just fine, but when one or the another chooses to hid behind patriotism or fallacious arguments, ....
  • Doesn't seem like it - apparently all either party can do is grandstand rather than deal with real issues.
  • We do in my house.
  • We are reaping the harvests from a central government gone wrong and no longer operating under the requirements of the Constitution. We have allowed congressmen, president and supreme courts to pass laws in opposition to the Constitution. We have allowed this government to become a democracy instead of a Republic as it was designed to be. We the people have sat back watching our sports on TV and leaving congress to do as they please. We are reaping what we have allowed to be sowen.
