  • I would read up on Herpes and find out as much as you can, that way you dont offend her, by asking her anything. Once you find out info then you can talk to her about it, she may not know some things.
  • It's not like you can get herpes by sitting on a couch with someone. Unless you plan getting naked with her and rubbing nasties then you have nothing to worry about.
  • Unless you are planing to have sex with her, you should have nothing to worry about. +5
  • Protect yourself? Were you planning on sleeping with her or having oral sex? Otherwise... I'm not sure what you need to protect yourself from. If you don't want to make her feel worse, how about you treat her as you normally would, and not like she has the plague. Research the disease so you can be there for her. HSV1 or mouth herpes are commonly in the form of cold sores on and around the mouth. HSV2 or genital herpes is a more intense strand commonly found on the genitals. However BOTH types can be found on the mouth or genital areas. Genital herpes can be transmitted through direct contact with an infected blister or sore, usually through sexual contact. It can also be transmitted when there are no symptoms present. HSV-2 infection is usually passed on during vaginal or anal sex. HSV-1 is usually transmitted to the genital area by oral sex (mouth to genital contact).
  • I don't know what that is....but look online to see if it's contagous or not,I say it's ok to hang around her if it's not contagous
  • Unless someone is rubbing genitals with someone with herpes they are not going to get it.
  • Unless you plan on making out with this girlfriend, you have nothing to worry about.
  • Don't share any food or drinks with her or do anything else where there might be an exchange of bodily fluids and you'll be fine.
  • If she has genital herpes, the only way you could catch it from her is by DIRECT sexual genital-genital contact with her. You cannot catch it from kitchen utensils, shaking her hand, sharing the bathroom, using the toilet. Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease, and is ONLY transmitted through sexual contact. You have nothing to worry about.
