Help answer this question below.
ISLAM is The True Original Religion Sent by GOD, The Creator, to Mankind.
Islam is not a new religion but the final culmination and fulfillment of the same basic truth that ALLAH (God) revealed through all His prophets to every people. For a fifth of the world's population, Islam is not just a personal religion but a complete way of living.
As there is only ONE GOD, there is only One Religion. Islam is the preserved pure religion of all prophets from ALLAH (GOD). Islam means the complete submission and obedience to Allah (God). The word "Islam" carries the meaning of submission and surrender to the will of Allah. This means that Islam is the religion of all prophets.
Islam in its final and complete form is the religion which Allah revealed to the Prophet Mohammad,(peace be upon him), to preach to all mankind. He has made Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) last (seal) of the prophets; and after him, there shall be no other prophet. Nor shall any other religion be acceptable, as stated in the Holy Quran:
"And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers." (Quran 3:85)
As for previous religions, they were all of them restricted. They were sent to particular people and limited to particular times. Islam alone is the one religion, which bears the seal of universality arid eternity. This mark has adhered to it ever since the beginning of its call. It is not therefore the idea of a moment afterwards cast upon it.
"We have sent you (Muhammad) as a mercy for all nations" [Quran 21:107]
The universality and eternity of Islam is one of its own characteristics, because it consists of all the elements of maturity and comprehensives, which can meet the needs of mankind. It coincides with the refinement of the human intellect and the progress of the human race; and of this:
“Today I (Allah) have completed your Religion for you, and graced you with the divine influence which operates in men to regenerate and sanctify and to impart strength to endure trial and resist temptation, and made all grace abound in you. And I have chosen for you Islam, as the acceptable system of faith and worship, not only to guide you into all truth, but also to make you better men. " (Quran 5:3)
The Qu'ran was written 6 centuries after the first advent of Christ. The Qu'ran borrows heavily from the Holy Bible. Much of the accounts in the Qu'ran is revisionist history of what was recorded in the Old Testament. Abraham and his lineage were not Hebrews, but Muslims according to the Qu'ran. Jesus is relegated to being merely a man and a prophet second to Muhammad.
It is not a credible historical book and that casts aspersion on the veracity of what is recorded of the deity therein.
What is the prophet mohammed's flight in the quran called?

You're reading What’s new / original in Islam? [Is there anything new/original in Islam?!]
Comments
The today you mention of Quran 5:3 was 1380 years ago?
There is no dispute about Islam’s newness in comparison will all faiths but Sikhism, which is a militant Hindu sect in direct response to Mohammedan onslaught on India from the North-West. Let’s examine what if anything, is ‘original’ in Allah’s Islam.
The five pillars of Islam are (1) Belief in Allah-Mohammad-duo (only Allah is not enough) (2) prayer (5-a-day, like fruit and vegetables for health!), (3) alms (to war-widows and war-orphans from men lost in raids on the unsuspecting-but-gallant infidels), (4) fast (perhaps just to harass the faithful in the most unhealthy way) and (5) Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca, hometown of Prophet Mohammad [PBUH].

How come The True Original Religion appears the latest
and looks very much like a 'copy' ...of a copy?
It is like looking at a snake's tail and calling it its head.
It doesn't become so by just calling so.
(e.g., Is the believer's asshole his/her mouth? Can't be!)
Alie doesn't become 'truth' by repeating it,
just as truth doesn't become 'more true' by repetition!

JIM- you say "As for previous religions, they were all of them restricted. They were sent to particular people and limited to particular times." Could you back that up with scripture, or is this your own particuliar view?

I will post to you what Jesus (PBUH) himself explicitly said to the Canaanite woman :
.
But He (Jesus) answered and said, "I was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." [Matthew 15:24]
.
So, Jesus himself emphasized in the bible that he had been sent ONLY to the JEWS (the lost sheep of the house of Israel).

That verse was quoted at the start of his ministry. Isreal rejected the message which left if open to the "Gentile" nation, representing all nations. Matt. 21:43,"This is why I say to you The Kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits." Doesn't sound very restricted to me.

Thanks for bring out this important subject. I have already posted a short explanation of this prophecy fortoled by Jesus (peace be upon him) in another AB question. I read your link and it seems to me that Islam tries to copy from God's Word and throw in Muhammads name where it actually applies to true prophets. For example, among other arguments that Muslim scribes use to prove the inspiration of the Quran is that Muhammad and his work were foretold in the Bible. According to a footnote on Sura 46:10, Ali, (n.4783) “in the Quran and its Prophet [is found] a true confirmation of the previous scriptures . . . Islam [being] a fulfillment of the revelation of Moses himself! (See Deut. XVIII, 18-19)”
But how could that be? At Mount Sinai Jehovah told Moses: “I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”—Deut. 18:15-19, AS.
by keithcain on August 13th, 2009
Certainly it cannot be justly argued that Muhammad, who was a descendant of Ishmael, was of Moses’ brothers. Nor did Muhammad speak in the name of Jehovah God, as did Moses. The fact is that centuries before Muhammad was born the apostle Peter, in addressing the bona fide brothers of Moses, the Jews, applied this text to Christ Jesus, and the facts show that this prophecy does apply to him.—Acts 3:20-23.
by keithcain on August 13th, 2009
Another prophecy which Muslim scribes apply to Muhammad is that of Jesus regarding the coming of a “helper” or “comforter”. Says Ali, in his footnote comment on Sura 3:81: “In the New Testament as it now exists Muhammad is foretold in the Gospel of St. John 14:16; 15:26; and 16:7. The future Comforter cannot be the Holy Spirit as understood by Christians, because the Holy Spirit already was present, helping and guiding Jesus.”
by keithcain on August 13th, 2009
However, note that Jesus said that his going away would make his apostles orphans, but not for long, as the “spirit of truth”, the paraclete, the “helper” or “comforter”, was to come. He further told them that they would be baptized with this spirit of truth “not many days after this” and that they were to remain in Jerusalem until this spirit came. Surely all these promises and commands would not make sense if the apostles were to wait six centuries until Muhammad came!
by keithcain on August 13th, 2009
True, the holy spirit was upon Jesus, but it is very apparent that, until it was given to them at Pentecost, without Jesus his apostles were very much like lost children. They went back to their fishing business; they presumed to elect an apostle to take the place of Judas; they had no message for the Jews. With the spirit’s outpouring at Pentecost all this changed! From then on the apostles confidently went forward with the work of preaching, making converts by the thousands. (John 21:3; Acts 1:4, 5, 15-26; 2:32-36, 41; 4:4) Clearly such misapplication of Scripture cannot prove the divine origin of the Quran!

Excellent answer JESUS-IS-MUSLIM.Tell the unbelievers what they need to know. You are almost as good a prophet as me.

To keithcain ...
.
Please focus on what I wrote in that article and don't divert the subject to other prophecies (as you tried to do!). I promise you that I am willing to debate with you after finishing from Matth 21. every prophecy we muslims claim to apply to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
.
Now, let's focus only on Matth. 21.
I just give you my rational clear explanation of what Jesus (peace be upon him) told the Jews related to this passage you yourself used to prove something different Matt. 21:43,"This is why I say to you The Kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits.".
.
.
Now, can you please discusse with me your specific objections regarding my posted explanation/analysis to the verses in Matth. 21 which I entitled "The Promised NATION To Carry the Final PROPHETHOOD!" and this is again the link of it http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/7388528 .
.
Please be specific and to the point.

I already answered your comment by saying "Remeber Jesus (PBUH) was saying a parable to the Jews.". I provided you with the link because I got no enough space here to write such detailed evidences and analysis. While the article in that link explains in detail why the rejected stone is identified with Ishmael and his descendants and Not with Jesus (PBUH) as you Christians like to make it appeare.
by JESUS-IS-MUSLIM on August 17th, 2009
keithcain wrote "Muhammed one of Moses's brothers. Yes or no, please provide scriptual reference."
.
All prophets are considered brothers in prophet-hood. They had been sent by the same one God: Allah and they had carried the same one message, that's to worship only the ONE True God, Allah. Also, remember that all of us -mankind- are descendants of the same father: Adam. So, we all brothers of the same Father: Adam.
by JESUS-IS-MUSLIM on August 17th, 2009
The same one God in the Old Testament is Jehovah. Not Allah. Muhammad never refers to Jehovah. Moses and Aaron, who by the way was Moses brother the scriptures was referring to, worshiped only Jehovah God. Muhammed never worshiped Jehovah so he would not be in line to receive any prophethood.
by keithcain on August 18th, 2009
Arabic speaking Jews in Morroco and Arabic speaking Christians use the word Allah when refering to God.
.
Scholars are unanimous in that Jesus spoke the language of Aramaic (not Arabic). What is the word for God in Aramaic? it is Alaah or Alaaha (depends on it position in the sentence). For anyone interested in proof please purchase the Lamsa Bible (translated from Aramaic) by George M Lamsa.

Who does the Real historical Messiah call his God?
.
ALLAH (Alaha, EL Lah) is the highest name of God of Abraham in Aramaic and Hebrew which the Messiah Son of man used and when translated from Hebrew to English it is written as EL Lah which stands for LIVING GOD in Hebrew or to be more precise, THE ETERNALLY LIVING One, that alone encompasses all Godly attributes. Now the name can differ in writing but when correctly pronounced it is the SOUND which matters.
.
ALAAHAA (in aramaic) = God
.
"O God" = "YA ALAAH" (in aramaic: the mother tongue language of Jesus)
.

Also, check this Jewish website (hear it with your own ears) stating that Allah is name of God
http://www.hebrew4christians.com/Names_of_G-d/Elah/elah.html
.
The original name in the Bible for GOD is not "Yahweh". It is "Allah". See the proofs from Jewish and Christian sources here: http://www.answering-christianity.com/allah1.htm
.
Want to hear with your own ears again?

Try verse Deuteronomy10:17 God your Lord is the Eternally Living God (ALLAH) of Gods (the Ultimate Supreme being) and the highest possible Authority. He is the great, mighty and awesome God, who does not give special consideration or take bribes.

You might want to do some more research, while allah means god, the One True God gave himself the name YHWH. This name is given for God in the original Hebrew scriptures about 7,000 times. However given the sources you give for reference, (example, you said(Finally, this is a clip from the "Passion of the Christ" movie, watch and hear then you can answer this: Did Jesus say " ALLAH" ? (Listen and see for yourself)...I can understand why you are confused.
Most Bibles have removed this name and replaced it with Lord due to superstition. But by digging deeper into the scriptures we find that God has a name and it is YHWH. (When translated into English, it is Jehovah.)
by keithcain on August 18th, 2009
I already presented to you enough evidences regarding the original name of God is truly Allah. And those evidences are from Christian and Jewish sources.
I can not force you to accept that truth. It's your own choice: either to accept the Truth or to deny it because it does not suit your desires.
