The running of the reporting period for this on your credit report is seven years after it was placed for collection and not from the time you defaulted on payments. However, the older the item gets, it becomes minor compared with other more recent negative information.

You're reading I had a delinquent account at the library in Aug.2000. It was sent to collections in Oct.2003.Do I have to wait until 2010 for deletion or should it be gone now since it was defaulted in 2000?
