    Such as in Japan where you would loudly sip the soup to express gratitude that the person made it and also that it tastes good. However, in the U.S. people would think of you as noisy and obnoxious.

    Thumb and forefinger together in a circle, means "okay" here. In South America, it's the symbol for female genitalia, and very rude.

    Well, in many Near Eastern countries it is considered polite to burp after a meal. In the West, we have to excuse ourselves.

    I read somewhere that in some Asian countries it is very rude to take money (change) from a cashier's hand. They just lay it on the counter.
