Is it a good idea to use shredded paper in your roof for insulation?

    typical insulation doubles as a fire retardent. shredded paper would obviously not succeed in that role, so i'd think not.

  • If there is a way of treating it so it can't become water logged or mouldy then it is an excellent idea.

    No it is not a good idea, because it is not fire resistant, and also can be a breeding ground for rodents.
