Help answer this question below.

Shouldn't Answerbag make people use an original name on here? It is getting confusing with people copying other people's names. Wouldn't you hate that?

here is a hypothetical for you. Suppose AB membership exploded all of a sudden to 10 million active users. How do you suppose each member would have a recognizably unique username? I think it is the way it is, by necessity. Even with just a million 'supposedly active' members, i bet it is not so easy to make up a user name that is not taken. Allowing for case-sensitive usernames maximizes the total possible username combinations.

A twist on your idea, however, is they should at least number the 'anonymous' usernames, as in anonymous1, anonymous2, anonymous3 etc.

- Okay, that is a point well taken, but just like email names, which wind up to be in the millions, I am sure, the names won't accept unless it is an original. But you are right, I would still get confused if someone just changed a name slightly. Thanks. Maybe if we had to keep the avatar picture different. I doubt if a computer could recognize the subtelties of that one though either.

yes usernames or pictures should not be able to duplicate as done in other sites.

- Ah AB duplicate names. I've noticed some dopplegangers recently too; seems to be a rash of them turned loose from the State Hospital. I suppose in that instance try to go by their levels in the meantime.

- I'm changing my name to Judge Smails. I like that avatar too. It's bad enough with the anonymous, but I can deal with that because we already know we don't know who the heck they are, but copying the same names? Can't everyone come up with their own? Oh well. I'm almost over it already.

- Yep! In fact one of the things that "girl" did was copy my picture and then use my name and pose as me on here! He did that to several of my friends as well.

- Well, at least I know that I am never going to know one from the other when I see Anonymous. I think Anon1, Anon2 would be better. After awhile you can tell sometimes. But two Mojo Thunders would throw me especially with everyone changing the avatars every so often.
