it might be swollen for a week. and the pain might stay as long as its swollen. if you had an infection you would have puss not clear kind or white kind but yellow and gross looking kind. try rinsing your mouth out with salt water. 1/4 tablespoon of sea salt to a 20 ox bottle of water. shake well and rinse after eating, drinking or anything else
