When I use My Laptop (IBM T40) it goes all FRIZZ! So I have to turn it off by pressing the power button!Why My Laptop goes Frizz?

Lightning struck near my house last night causing my accidentally plugged in laptop to spark at the place where it was plugged in. the laptop works but refuses to charge. Is this an internal problem or a problem with the power cord?

You're reading My power went out today and my cpu was off but still plugged in to a power strip that was on.after we got power back i tried turning it on but the power light blinks amber.the power strip works and ive tried evrything at the dell website.any sugestions?

i just tried one of those that involved unpluggin the power cord from the cpu, and there was a flash of light from the back and a loud snapping noise
