We've been together 4 years. I just don't see myself marrying him, and he's trying to be so perfect. I'm afraid it's not the "real" him. He's trying to change, just so I would say, "I do." Does that make sense?

• Counselling - good point, but don't you think there's just an element of common sense involved here? I think HealthFreak suspects there's no future in this relationship, but she wants somebody else to confirm it.

• of course she wants someone to confirm it. we all need that comfort when we are about to make a big decision, especialy we ladies. that's why bathrooms exist.

• Ha! Thanks singwell. I'll go find my answer on the stalls of the next ladies room I enter. If only life were so simple. Just look up while popping a squat and the answer will appear on the locked door. Ahh, the sheer joy it would bring to us all.
