Help answer this question below.

I know that twilight is the time between dawn and sunrise, i know what a new moon is, and what an eclipse is.. but what is 'breaking dawn'?

    You mean other than a horrible book title? It's the time when the sun first breaks the horizon.

    Eight minutes after the Sun is actually on the horizon, its light reaches Earth. The terms, 'breaking dawn' and 'first light' are pretty much interchangeable.
