Section 11362.5 (b)(1)(A) of the California Health and Safety Code, better known as The Compassionate Use Act, ensures that "seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where that medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person's health would benefit from the use of marijuana in the treatment of cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, migraine, or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief." It further explains that patients and their primary caregivers who obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes upon the recommendation of a physician are not subject to criminal prosecution or sanction. Basically, if a physician deems it medically necessary and prescribes for a particular indication and patient, it's legal.

OMG no no no, marijuana will mess you up even more. Ask your doc about cipralex. They are anti-depressants and for panic disorder and I take them and honestly, I have been fine now for months since I have been on them and I never thought I would come through it and I did and have and I feel all positive again. xx

i think you need to ask your dr instead of ab. even if someone here had your exact condition each case is different and individual.

As Krystof explained, it can be prescribed for medically necessary cases in CA. However, paranoid disorders/anxiety/panic attacks etc would not be considered such cases. Actually, I assume that no good doctor would prescribe marajuana for those symptoms, since there is overwhelming medical evidence and research suggests that actually marajuana would in very many cases, if not cause paranoia and anxiety, contribute to it greatly and make it much worse. It has not been proven to provide relief in the way it has for many other illnesses. The doctor would be more likely to prescribe drugs such as diazepam, perhaps even in combination with a form of anti-depressent, in addition to therapy.
