The transmission shouldnt effect engine idle. As long as you have plenty of transmission fluid and engine oil your good. It almost sounds like an oxygen sensor, temp sensor, or fuel quality. hope it helps.

Well actually to me it sounds like you could have knocked a vaccum line loose when you were putting oil in it, or it could be something as simple as a idle control valve.

Sounds like an Idle air control valve. Very common on these engines. Don't bother cleaning them it does nothing. It needs to be replaced. I think is just coincidence that you put the oil in and it started doing this. How low was your Oil? Dodges have a problem with a leaky gasket on there intake. It's a pan that's bolted on the bottom of the intake manifold. The gasket get sucked in causing a vacuum leak into the crank case. It will suck the oil from your engine while it's running. This may also cause the erratic idle. Easy way to check is pull the PCV valve out of the valve cover. place your left thumb over the end of the valve. Stick your pointer finger in the hole in the valve cover. With your right hand pull the breather hose off of the upper right hand side of the air cleaner. The hose will run down to the other valve cover. Place your right thumb over the hose. If there is vacuum with the engine running you need to replace the intake pan gasket. If there is light pressure you are good to go. This is also the fix for bad spark knock on the 3.9-5.2 and 5.9 engines in the dodge trucks. Be carfull to watch out for the fan while you are checking this.

try an idle air control valve, or clean air filter, or new fuel filter, plug wires, pls tell me that 3.4 qt of oil is not the only oil in it..that would suck
