Can a minor (16) get a student loan without parent or with parent with bad credit?? Wanna go to boarding school but my dad is against it and my Mom doesn't have the money or the credit for any kind of loan...

• The school I want to go to does work with a private loan company... but my mom doesn't think that we could get it even if we did try because of her credit, hence the reason for asking about the minor part.
  
  It's a weight loss school, and with the program that they have you can actually be reimbursed up to $2,000/month when the tuition/month is $6,250... plus it can be tax deducted...
  
  The one bad thing is that they don't have a scholarship program...
  
  And I don't just want to got there for the weight-loss, but seeing at this is my Junior year I need the best grades possible and I need a lot of one-on-one attention from the teacher to really learn the mateial and when there is only one teacher for 30+ students, that doesn't happen...
  The school has 10 kids per teacher, so more one-on-one...
  
  Overall I think, as well as does my mom, that it would be the best thing to do... we just can't because of money...
  
  I wish I had seen this school before I spent $20,000 on fat camp

• two years in a row, only to be kicked out early because I was too depressed for them...
  
  The reimbursment program they have is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy... so it would definitely help with the depression...
  
  But, alas... no school as I don't have a super rich grandma hiding out somewhere... sigh... that's be soo cool though...

• If you could find one. In the meantime, you need to convince your mum to talk to them regardless of what she thinks the outcome is going to be, research other private and public loans and grants and talk with the school about payment plans, other sources of payment, etc.
