for me the best manager we have ever come across is sir alex ferguson. he is the one that every team would like to have. he lifted mufc from bottom to top, won all the trophies and today he is the boss of mufc and even now he has been able to maintain his discipline and he rules at old trafford. anyway, he is just the best

Have you edited your question yet? I also agree with you, if you mean Brian Clough. Broke his leg as a player and had his career cut short; his former team (Middlesbrough) wouldn't give him a job and he started off at Hartlepool, who were that year, as every other year at that time, staring relegation out of the Football League in the face. If Boro had given him a job at that time who knows what might have happened.

Got to say Alex Ferguson. I have thought about Clough and Stein, who both made their clubs among the best in Europe, but Ferguson did it twice, he also made Aberdeen one of the best in Europe when they won the Cup Winners Cup in 1983, then beat Hamburg, the European Champions, to win the Super Cup.

Jock Stein - won the European Cup with Celtic, with players who lived within 20 miles of Glasgow.

Brian Clough was probably the best English manager.

Never heard of him. Do you mean Cloughie, as in Brian Clough? If so I probably agree with you.
