Rasputin was one tough old degenerate!
He was murdered by Prince Felix Yussoupoff and a couple of his friends, at the Yussoupoff family palace in St. Petersburg.
He was first fed poisoned cakes and wine, neither of which seemed to have much effect.
Somewhat panicky, his slayers next shot him, struck him on the head, and shoved his body beneath the ice of the Neva River.
It seems that the ultimate cause of death was drowning.
I believe he was shot several times before he finally died.
