No vacations and holiday presents are minimal but loving. Out of job, health and money. +4

No , although investments and monthly income from same has gone down a LOT . I am lucky enough not to have to worry too much. As soon as I am fit enough I will be going away.
I am going over to mainland Europe next month for a working /fun trip.

- Suby I am rarely here a full week I was off two days last week, and I often take 3 months away and do not even come on site. This time I actually came back because I had made Babycakes a promise and she is a very dear friend whom I would never let down. I return for friends now and sadly so many spend less and less time here.

- True. Except for a very few most of the very active friends here last year are not to be seen any more. I think they over did their abing and got too much of the AB experience. I take care not to spend more than 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. That too with a lot of interruptions when I must take care of other work.
  But I do miss AB when I go away for a week on work or vacation.

- I live in India. Things haven't got that bad here. Expectations too are lower. I have already had two vacations this year. All at places less than 500 miles away. As long as I don't plan a foreign holiday, I will be okay.

- Well there's lots of place to see there, but you don't need me to tell you that :) I was in Bangalore for a couple of weeks myself, and being European, everywhere I looked was fascinating.

- Normally I go to a beach or a hill station where I could have peace and quiete. Did all the site seeing when I was younger. Now not that interested in seeing how things have changed!

we just stay home and enjoy the sights and sounds of our locale. gas and motel prices are extravagant.

actually, my wife and I are doing financially very well! Not meaning to sound smug, but I have had no problem as of late being able to afford bills, house payments, or anything that my kids have needed....hell, I have even been able to afford a couple of vacations to the coast in the last couple of months at the Breakers! maybe Im just lucky I suppose.

For some but fortunate for me this year has brought more money into my pocket and I am truly blessed! I actually am going on a 10 day vacation... I am so excited the rates have lowered enough for me to actually leve the country.
