Christians: If you found that everything you've put your life into was a lie how would you feel? I am feeling at this point but i am not certain yet. If i become certain i will 'top' myself as there is no point! Am i strange or would you do the same?

I'm not a Christian, so I hope you'll forgive my speaking out of turn. But it sounds to me like you're passing through a normal transition point in your development as a person... doubting who you have been, doubting what you've devoted yourself to, resisting the realization that it may not be adequate.

Those transition points happen to all intelligent, sensitive adults as they grow and mature -- that's the way it's supposed to be, it's not a malfunction of life: you have a certain "box" around your life, and you explore that box and fill it up until you can no longer distinguish between yourself and the box. At that point, it stops being satisfying and growth-promoting, and starts to become a prison.

The solution is to let the walls of the box break down: to question the foundation of your life and identity, and ride the emotional roller-coaster that comes with such questioning. At some point, the ups and downs level out, you look backwards and see the shell you've shed and the new skin under it, and start exploring the newer, larger box.

Mastery is when you are no longer threatening to kill yourself every time this happens.

I was raised in an Orthodox Jewish home. Several months ago I concluded that it's a lie. I was depressed for a while, I even considered suicide, but I'm just about over my depression.

First off, I really don't believe that EVERYTHING can be a lie...you live, you breath, you have probably laughed at something that struck you as funny, and probably cried at something that brought you sorrow.

Those were HONEST emotions you felt at the time.

Ever single time you said or did something that made someone smile, feel comforted, feel good or stronger was HONEST and REAL...you can't fake that...therefore IT, which IS part of EVERYTHING...can not be a lie.

Remember who is the KING of LIES...roflmao...HE delights in our sorrow and confusion...those lies are ALL he has to OFFER and he is the master of that...

He can twist and pervert all good things, if we allow him to do so...but he also must GO when we demand that he go...because we always have the power of WHAT IS, AND FOREVER WILL BE...backing us up.

Once you strip the POWER OF THE LIE away...you see the sniveling, putrid rot that is trying to FOOL YOU into believing the lies...THEN you realize who ALWAYS tells the truth, wants the best or better for you, and will never forsake you...always has your back in every situation, without you even having to ask...

Things become very clear and shining then...and you can not be fooled into believing that "everything you've put your life into is a lie" it simply is not.
