    That you may seem lonely during the day but at night when you go to bed or when your sitting alone at home you will realize just how lonely you really are.

    In the song, he's talking about how the woman he loves always wants the best things and for him to spend money on her, and he wants to give her all of that, but in order to do so, he's got to work hard and work long hours. So she complains that he's never home to spend time with her, not thinking about the fact that he wants to work hard to give her what she wants. So finally he is fed up with being in the catch-22, and lets her know that "if you think you're lonely now" while hes at work making money for her, then "wait until tonight, girl" when he says goodbye forever to all her complaining, and she's got no one at all.
