"complete word of God", that's a tough one, I'm going to say neither, because the Bible wasn't written by God, or even by Jesus, it was written by people, about their history, and what they know, and Christians should consider their lives like another book of the Bible, another story in the work of God... the books that are included in the Catholic Bible, but not the Protestant Bible are called the "apocrypha", I used to have a copy of the Bible with the apocrypha, but gave it to someone who I knew would use it more... Every now and then "Christian" people get together and debate about some aspect of the faith, and generally it ends up dividing people.. hence why there is a Catholic/Protestant division, and then many Protestant denomiations, and then the orthodox church, etc... A one such conference, don't know the date, people debated over which books where most significant and relevant, or perhaps essential to the church. I'm protestant, and I wouldn't consider becoming Catholic because I don't understand how some of their traditions follow the core, essential teachings of the faith. It's easy to get someone to 'explain' a religion to you, but your best bet is to go read about it on your own... in this case read the four gospels (matt, mark, luke, john) and read some of the apocrypha and decide for yourself if it is useful.

Both have the word of God. I'm not certain that either claims to have the complete word of God. He would, no doubt, have other thoughts on the matter. For information on the books that differ: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_apocrypha For information on non-canonical books, that for various reasons are not in Jewish "Bibles": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deuterocanonical_books

Imagine God to stop communicating with us after 66 or 73 chapters? There are lots of holy tomes on this planet and that summary of God's word is a miniscule version. Try the Vedas, the source.

The Catholic Church had special exclusive rights with God for any and all additional literary works including but not limited to sequels and/or spin-offs.

The bible clealry states "Do not add or take away from this book or you shall be taken out of the Book of Life" The Catholics are leading people to damnation, stay far from their beliefs. The bible states do not worship false idols, the head of the church is Jesus(Not the Pope) Additions of Mass, confessing to priests, These are all AGAINST the teachings of Jesus. Get yourself a King James Bible and listen not to others. Let denominations not fool you- "Do not call yourself anything other than a Christian" (Babtist, Catholic, Mormon, etc...) Attend a good church.. The Church of Christ or a church that teaches only from what comes out of scripture.

I would be very suspicious of anyone claiming to have the "complete" word of God. But as for the number of books in each, the Catholic Bible *was* first. I'm not speaking to the authenticity or accuracy of either; just saying that those "extras" were actually an accepted part of the Bible up until the 16th century, when they were removed by Protestant reformers.

Who can truly know what the Catholics put in there. The Catholics are responsible for withholding scripture so from the people so that they could not interpret for themselves. At this point, they profited from the people with indulgences. Waging and attacking the Muslims for power.. THIS ALONE should tell you their fruits are not good! They ADDED to glorify themselves and take profits from the innocents. Look up Indulgences on the internet and tremble. This is denying the teachings of Jesus outright! Blasphemy. He told us to look at the fruits, to determine them man. I pray for those under Satans spell.

Martin Luther, and others, felt that certain books that were in the Cannon were not quite in line with what was believed. So, they removed them.

Thanks God, we got just one version of Quran. Imagine, how fierce would have been the wars among muslims.
