  • There is no limit to what age one should start drinking water it is in fact one of the most important nutrients for children. However It is only natural that a mother begin to give breast milk to a young infant I would suggest that as soon as he/she is weened and capable of drinking from a bottle that you try to give the baby water
  • I have 2 children...age 14 and 5...and i regularly gave both of them water in thier baby bottles when they were infants. Sometimes babies just need a drink. Do not put sugar in the water (like some ppl will tell u to do) and make sure its safe water...such as Aquafina (which is double filtered). for the record...SPRING water usually is NOT purified...as long as it is listed as spring water ont he bottle it does not legally have to have any purifications done to it. U ever have that thirst than only water will quench? nothing else works? babies obviously get that too (and why wouldnt they...they are after all human). Some babies will drink a good bit of water...others just a few sips and some tend not to like it. Like anything else...never force it...but offer it. And of course make sure that it does not interfere with thier feedings (no nutrients in water). Good idea to offer it between feedings.
