    I liked Picard.
    He used his brain, not his muscle.

    And did have sex appeal!!!
    (I'm not usually attracted to bald men, but I'd say yes to him.)

    I prefer Kirk for I used to watch the original TV as a kid.Back then he was popular as the captain. When the next generation series came I had lost interest so I don't know about Picard.

    I have to go with Jon Luc.

    He was a more authoritative figure that would make you shake in his presence. That voice!!

    I like the way he commanded those around him. He did'nt require respect but he would get it through his actions. Great leader.

    I thought Kirk got involved with too many alien women. I'd rather have the more logical and less emotional Picard lead me as a captain.

    I think Picard also has the qualities that would make him a good President.

    Definitely Picard. He was so smart, and diplomatic, a 'real man' who didn't rely only on brawn, but much more on brains...I don't date men, so that is saying something. Kirk wasn't bad, but a little too much of a 60's guy, plus didn't seem that smart.

    This is a tough question. Kirk & Picard had there own styles personalities, and ways of doing things! Both great captains. But if you really want me to decide, I will say Picard. But I only put him a smidgen ahead of Kirk.

    Who would you have as YOUR commanding officer? Just look at how each answers a hail from an unknown vessel:

    Picard: "This is Jean-Luc Picard of the Federation Starship Enterprise. Identify Yourself."

    Kirk: "Hey, I'm James T. Kirk. But you can call me 'Jim'."

    I love 'em both... but I'd rather SERVE under Picard.

    Besides, I'd be MUCH less afraid of being a Red-Shirt Ensign on Picard's ship.

    Kirk may be the sentimental favorite, but Picard was smarter, more nuanced, more epathetic, more versatile, had better command presence and actually survived Star Trek:Generations.

    Tough choice...Kirk was more action-oriented and Picard was more cerebral. Given that each lived about 200 years apart, and therefore the technology each had to rely on was also 200 years different, I'd have to pick Picard for my preference. But I sure do like the hands-on approach Kirk had "back in the day."

    I'm old school so I like Kirk, especially towards the end of the series where his character is developed and the relationship between Bones, Kirk, and Spock is predictably humorous. Picard took a little getting use to and sometimes I felt he was too serious.

    Kirk was great and a much better hand to hand fighter but Picard was a tactician. He would easily beat Kirk as he would not allow the fight to resort to hand to hand combat.
