Your kitty is still young, so it could be acting out due to it's bottled up energy. I had a cat that was getting up in age and started acting that way, and it was because it was getting sick. It was acting out because it was in pain. Don't worry though!! I am sure it will grow out of this stage. Get a couple little toys to see if he needs more exercise or playtime.
Have you recently shaved or changed your soap or aftershave? It may be that he is not familiar with the new scent or it is aggrivating his sense of smell.
kittens usually act like that they are just getting the hang of their claws they usually just play around with them like digging thier claws in things scratching thing and slapping people in the face.
You pissed kitty off for some reason only known to kitty. Tap kitty on the nose lightly. This behavior should not be allowed or it will get nastier.
