1. The speakers are horrible outdoors, however if your inside and in a pretty small room, like a living room or a quiet classroom it is pretty clear.
2. No, I don't think there is. I believe it depends on the song. You can press the fast forward button, that will get you to the next song. =)
Can the skull candies ink'd with mic be used to pause/play songs on a 1st generation ipod touch? Or is it possible to make this work?

You're reading Im going to use my Ipod touch for playing music after a live band and was going to use their speakers, will it sound good? and is there any setting on the Ipod that reduces the downtime between songs so it jumps into the next song straight away?

That depends on who is at the board, but you are generally correct since most of them suck.
Correct; there will *always* be a "hiccup" of a fraction of a second. All players do this, and it prompted me to edit The Wall and a couple of Trance albums I have into one long cut each.
