  • It's actually referring to video poker. 9/6 refers to the respective payoffs (per coin bet) for a full house and a flush. 9 times your bet for the full house, 6 times for the flush. This applies to your basic Jacks or Better machine that pays 4000 coins for a 5 coin-in royal flush. The higher these two numbers, the lower the house edge. Unlike slot machines, video poker machines are not set to take a certain percentage of bets. The house hold is instead determined by the pay scale, as the house can not change the mathematical probability of hitting a particular hand.
