  • Likely a defect in the disk's surface, like a scratch or even possibly just a finger smudge. If it's scratched, there are repair kits you can purchase at music or computer stores. They usually do an adequate job unless the disk has a horrendous gash. If it's a smudge, usually those same repair kits have a cleaning kit with them. Don't use anything but the cloths that come with those kits. You may think paper towels or tissues are fine, but they'll quickly ruin a disk.
