The seventh graders sold tickets to their play. The tickets cost $3 for students and $6 for adults. For one performance they sold 79 tickets and collected $375. How many student tickets and how many adult tickets were sold?

    S = number of student tickets
    A = number of adult tickets

    3S + 6A = 375
    S + A = 79

    Solve for S or A in equation 2 and substitute back into equation 1. Check by putting both variables into both equations.
