• I avoid things that scare me. At one point in my life many years ago after the suicide of my best friend, I thought I was having a nervous breakdown. I went to see my doctor and he assured me that I was fine..that it was just the stress of the situation. Then he told me this...we all have things that scare us.. they are like tigers stalking on the edges of our lives. He said "avoid all the tigers and you'll be just fine"! I have followed that advice and I have been just fine sweetie! :)

• then theres the one that says face your fears instead of runnining away from them .they will then be gone forever, not lurking at the edge of our lives waiting to catch us unawares, the shrink that told me this said if you dont do this ,you are laying littlle traps everywhere.(different strokes for different folkes eh?):)

• To strange...there are as many theories/opinions as there are people. We each need to do that which is best for us..what works for you and what works for me isn't the same thing, all due respect to your shrink. Happy Wednesday! :) My basic fear is of heights. I know exactly why that is and when it happened. I can look at a magazine, turn the page to an aerial view of something and my knees get weak. If I'm above the 3rd floor in a building and go out on a balcony and look over the edge to the ground below my knees buckle. Yet in a plane I'm fine. I am not going to spend my life looking over balcony edges until my knees stop buckling. That's just me! :)

I don't even think it's real; I'm fairly sure it's impossible, but it still grossed me out. I couldn't shake the site of it from my mind for quite a while! I've been in hospital quite a lot, then when I was 17 I ran away from it and jumped off a bridge, now my legs are completely screwed and I can hardly walk...all my own fault of course, but its just...horrible. nobody seems to understand and its just...ugh.sorry, im rambling!
