  • Crunches are better, and safer than situps. Plus, they are a great way to work you obliques into the equation (the muscles along the sides of your abdomen). Any core exercises will help to develop the abdomenal muscles, the thing to remember though is make sure you rest, if you don't take days off your abdomenal muscles can adjust quickly and you may plateau. Also do many various exercises to work all the muscles, try a little pilates, tae bo, etc... the more diversity the better the results.
  • After doing millions of setups in the Army do crunches believe me your back will thank you.
  • Last summer I did x-amount of sit-ups a day and saw few results. This year only 2 months into my workout plan I have seen results. Crunches are better.
