The idea that music will naturally emerge from noise is a fallacy. I've never heard anything worthwhile from a radio tuned to static, or seen anything meaningful in the snow of a TV screen.
random typing may occasionally produce words, but the typing on the internet isn't Shakespeare. It's not random. (although the thoughts may be)
In all the time the internet has run,
from break of day, through to the setting sun
I scour and search in vain to find a word
that I would not dismiss as just a turd.
Aye though the greatest minds herein are seen,
their grasp, I sadly must dismiss as lean
Aye, though it grieves me sore, I must complain,
and flush the whole caboodle down the drain
I agree, but we must remember one thing ... monkeys didn't write his plays either. ; )
Because you need to wait an infinite amount of time for that to work.
To be fair, the monkeys in the original British Museum Algorithm were also given an infinite amount of time. You are just being impatient.
Back when Bob Newhart was a standup comedian he did a funny bit about the guys whose job it was to go around checking on what the monkeys had typed each day.
Because the saying is not "a million", but "an infinite number of monkeys".
the most stupid questions get the most answers
as soon as you ask a decent question you get downrated
not to worry ,
will progress the few while the masses stay put
Do you speak "monkey"? Perhaps you think what you see is mostly gibberish when in fact it may well be Monkeyese/Baboonese/Gibbonese. :)
Probably because the internet has no form.
We are unsure if even the usual portrait of Shakespeare is authentic or the words ascribed to him were actually written by him or someone else using a pseudonym.
What was the name of the theater that Shakespeare and his company built?

You're reading There are already a million monkeys on a million typewriters. Why doesn't the Internet look like Shakespeare then?

There are exceptions to every rule. And although Wikipedia is pretty useful, it always has to be read with a degree of suspicion.
