    The reason is simple. The American people had decided to give him the mandate for at least years. The voices of the majority of the American people had spoken loud and clear.

    Because he won the majority of the votes in the electoral college. That's the only reason that matters.

    Majority doesn't always prevail, congress can override the majority vote if say - they don't think the winner is the best man for the job. People think of democracy as the people vote, most votes win. Its actually quite convoluted, there are countless stipulations, rules, and hidden little secrets. Hell congress is rather sketchy - if you hide an insidious bill deep within an appealing bill and the latter passes, the evil passes. Let's say the top bill is homes for the homeless - we would all like that right? But if you hide death penalty for anyone who J walks - if the homeless bill passes as does the latter. Its commonplace they read only a fraction of bills that pass.

    Its a point of progression - as long as he is not a total screw up it sets forward that more than old crusty white men (yes I'm a white man - but not crusty) can lead us. So basically it sets on motion that
    "perhaps a black man can lead us, or perhaps a woman van lead us."
    Personally he's all hype - for the above reasons.
    Actually I think he is the Antichrist - like in the book "left behind"
    No, I'm not Christian. I just think the essence of evil is best hidden in those who appear otherwise.
